Bonita Mae 'Bonnie' Newman

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bonita Mae "Bonnie" Newman, 90, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

She was born in Union County May 13, 1921, to William Taylor and Ollie May Hinkle. Bonnie was married to George Besch and he preceded her in death September 1945. She then married Robert L. Newman and he precedes her in death also.

She was a self-employed beautician in Harrisburg for several years. Bonnie had attended the Raleigh Baptist Church, Galatia Baptist Church, North Side Baptist Church in Charleston and Big Creek Baptist Church in Anna.

Bonnie is survived by a son, George (Marj) Besch of Charleston; a daughter, Cynthia Walsh of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Eric (Diana) Patton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara Burleson of Toledo, Ohio, Robert (Sierra) Besch of Lerne; four great-grandchildren, Nicole Marie Patton of Ohio, Ashley Burleson (Jared) Clapp of Hindsboro, Mashayla Markay Besch of Casey, Dalton Lee Patton of Ohio; and a great-great-grandchild, Kensley Lynn Clapp of Hindsboro; and also several cousins.

She was preceded by her parents; her two husbands; two brothers, Norman and Robert Hinkle; four sisters, Merle Hinkle Nimmo, Mildred Hinkle Barnhart, Leota Hinkle Godard and Colleen Hinkle Benden.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 1 p.m. to the funeral hour. The Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate with burial in the Raleigh Masonic cemetery.
