The U.S. surgeon general today warned people to stop tanning, both in the sun and in tanning salons. Acting Surgeon General Boris Lushniak called skin cancer a “major health problem” and wants to highlight the issue. The statistics show that about 5 million people in the U.S. get skin cancer every year.
